If you love the charm of your old kitchen cabinets or just do not want to buy new ones, consider cabinet refinishing. Cabinet refinishing or cabinet painting will give you the opportunity to transform your living spaces.

    Wood Refinishing

Do any of the wood surfaces in your home need refinishing? Whether it’s painting, staining or something more advanced, the experts at Success Painting can help.

Wood surfaces need to be treated with a different level of care than drywall. The best finish for wood often depends on where it is in your home and how it’s currently finished. When finished properly, wood features can add to the ambiance in your home. But if they are finished poorly or not prepared properly, they can ruin the look you are trying to create.

    Preparing the Wood
Wood is unique and different than drywall. Natural wood will have a grain and could also have knots. This impacts how different coatings look on the wood. This is why the prep work is so important. To get the proper
result, you have to understand what you are starting with and how it will impact the final product.

An inexperienced painter may just rush to put the coating on without considering how the wood needs to be treated first to prepare it to look great. Sanding and primer can get you a long way but there can often be more to the project

Don’t take chances with the wood surfaces in your home, call on the experts at Success Painting.

    Textured Spraying

    Orange Peel Textured Spraying
Orange peel is a popular spray-on texture because it hides imperfections but is not as dramatic as a popcorn texture. Preferred by many homeowners in Surprise because of its exceptionally fast drying time, orange peel texture does not require any trowel work or a professional spray applicator to control the dimple size.

    Popcorn Textured Spraying
While many homeowners are removing older popcorn ceilings, newer, more updated versions of the popcorn texture are going up. Used at home for its insulating properties, today’s popcorn texture is visually crisper with distinct peaks and valleys.

    Knowdown
    – Mud Trowel: Used in homes throughout the Surprise area, “;mud trowel” provides the most subtle texture. Drywall mud is applied over the surface and then skimmed off to create a subtle relief using a drywall trowel with a curved blade. This technique requires several coats, expert technique and longer drying time.
    – Splatter: The least expensive and quickest to apply option, splatter has the look of Spanish stucco. Wet drywall mud is sprayed with a hopper gun. Then we flatten the peaks with a knockdown knife. This creates a subtler look than stomp with a subtle raised texture that leaves around 60 percent of
the surface flat on your wall.
    – Stomp: Sometimes called holy smooth, this technique provides a nubby more elevated texture in your home than splatter or mud trowel. To create the spikes the professional painters from Success Painting apply a thin mix of drywall mud with a paint roller. Finally, a crows-foot brush is stomped into
the mud before flattening it with a standard knockdown knife.

    Crown Molding

Clean, crisp paint on the trim around your doors and windows gives your home a finished look. Bringing back the sophisticated appearance of interior moldings such as crown, cabinets or chair rail molding with a freshnew coat of professionally applied paint makes all the difference.

    Garage Floor and Epoxy Finish

Oil spills, spray paint overflow, dirt and grime can diminish the appearance of your garage floor over time. Call Success Painting to give your old garage floors a new look with epoxy or paint.
Success Painting is the painting company Surprise residents call on to make a garage floor look instantly cleaner and fresher. The water-resistant, epoxy finish is easier to clean than concrete and eliminates the dust associated with concrete floors.

Steps to epoxy or paint your garage floor:

    1. The painters at Success Painting fill small cracks with mortar repair compound and use concrete patch for larger cracks or holes.
    2. Concrete patchwork must dry completely. Depending on the weather, this can take up to 48 hours.
    3. Next, we etch the concrete surface to allow epoxy paint primer to absorb.
    4. After etching the concrete, we apply a milky layer of specialty paint primer or epoxy primer.
    5. Finally, the painters at Success Painting apply several coats of paint or a one-part epoxy paint.

    Stucco Repairs and Painting

The naturally warm, bright appearance of stucco can dull with time. Call Success Painting to refresh and brighten your stucco with new paint.

Painting Your Stucco Interior and Exterior Surfaces.

    1. For exterior stucco walls, Success Painting lightly power washes stucco surfaces of dirt and dust and gently scrubs away mildew with a stiff bristle brush. For interior walls, we may use a vacuum dusting attachment. If your walls have grease or grime or mildew build-up, we apply an appropriate cleaner. Depending on the weather and season in Surprise we may need to allow 24 to 48 hours for walls and surfaces to dry before patching or priming.

    2. Success Painting preps walls by fixing small cracks and dings with masonry caulk. Due to the weather in Surprise cracks on stucco walls larger than ⅛ inch-wide are common. For larger cracks, we remove any loose stucco with a putty knife and make repairs with a patching compound developed specifically for stucco.

    3. Once the patching compound has dried, we prime stucco walls with a high-quality acrylic primer. In Surprise’s climate, acrylic primers adhere better to uneven stucco surfaces. Using a large, napped roller we force primer into the stucco’ss deep nooks and crevices.

    4. Lastly, we apply a flat paint
